excellent. Miles is a great physician and come from a legacy of medical doctor. [interesting and well written]
The book is centered around a unique time in American history with the Civil Rights movement and it's effects on the local Baltimore city populace. The story is an account from the coach Chip Silverman and his journey in building a solid lacrosse program at Morgan State University during the 1970's. It gives excellent insight of the racial divides during the time period but also, has examples of the respect earned and camaraderie shared between opponents of different racial backgrounds. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the local history of Baltimore, the history of Lacrosse, and the unique development of a strong collegiate LAX program at a historically Black institution.
Any lacrosse player/fan would enjoy this book. It deals with a (virtually) all-black Morgan State University developing a lacrosse program, and eventually defeating then-top ranked Washington and Lee in 1974, only several years after playing their first collegiate game. It also deals with the societal issues of the era. You really get to know the players as individuals, and Chip Silvermann and Miles Harrison (father of JHU/professional player Kyle Harrison) do an excellent job structuring this book, with stories from the school, challenges they faced, and plenty of background lacrosse information, as well. A very good book, and an excellent read. I loved it.
I gave this book as a gift to a teenage African American young man who is an avid lacrosse player. In fact, in 2013 he was the co-captain of his team at a prestigious boarding school. He enjoyed the read and was fascinated with the story.

Mr. Silverman and Mr. Harrison take us on a journey through a truly inspiring tale about the only black college lacrosse team to compete in the NCAA. Based on a true story, this piece of sports history is a MUST read.
Fascinating piece of social and sports history. The authors combine humor and heart to create a great story about the only black college lacrosse team to ever compete in NCAA. This would make a GREAT movie!
